Titan Arum Flower in the Lauser Forest Area

A Titan Arum flower, standing over two meters tall, grows and blooms in the agricultural area bordering the Lauser Forest in Langkat Regency, Indonesia. The flower, estimated to only thrive in Sumatra, emits a foul odor and withers after reaching two weeks of growth.


The Titan Arum, also known as Amorphophallus titanum, is a rare flower believed to only grow on the island of Sumatra, Indonesia. This gigantic flower can reach heights of up to two meters, characterized by red-hued petals and a central structure resembling a pillar.


Residents of Jonjong Village in Batu Katak Hamlet discovered this rare flower growing and blooming on the edge of a ravine near the Bukit Lawang tourist attraction. As a result, anyone can witness the Titan Arum, but caution is advised when approaching it due to its distinctive odor.


In Jonjong Village, Bahorok Subdistrict, many Titan Arum flowers grow in the agricultural areas of the residents, as they border the Lauser Mountain forest area in Langkat. It is estimated that the flower will emit a foul odor after reaching two weeks of growth.


This two-meter-tall Titan Arum always captures the attention of flower enthusiasts. Despite the challenges of reaching the location, flower lovers persist in visiting the site where this unique flower thrives.
