A 3-meter-long estuarine crocodile got entangled in a fisherman's net in the Barumun River, Air Merah Village, Kampung Rakyat Subdistrict, South Labuhan Batu, Indonesia. The crocodile was discovered by a fisherman while inspecting his catch.

The 3-meter estuarine crocodile was evacuated by residents to the mainland after getting caught in the fisherman's net in the Barumun River, Air Merah Village, Kampung Rakyat Subdistrict, South Labuhan Batu District, Indonesia. The discovery of this crocodile caused a stir among the local residents.

Subsequently, the residents reported this capture to the village government and the police at the Kampung Rakyat sub-district. Before long, authorities arrived and transported the crocodile to be handed over to the North Sumatra Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA).

The head of the hamlet, Herman Alamsyah Nasution, mentioned that initially, the fishermen thought they had caught a large-sized fish, but upon pulling it to the shore, they realized it was a crocodile.

This incident shocked the fishermen, leading them to call other residents to evacuate this dangerous reptile to the mainland. In addition to fishing, the river is regularly crossed by residents using boats to reach their gardens.
